This Tuesday we welcomed Sosha Lewis to our February chapter meeting. Sosha is a graduate of West Virginia University with a BA in Communications and currently resides in Charlotte. Through her career she has worked in various sectors of communications and has held a variety of jobs editor, event planner, and, currently, a blogger. Her comedic presentation following her career path (humorously entitled, “How I followed my delusions of grandeur…uh I mean dreams”) took us through how she got to these very different and challenging jobs and what she’s learned.
 
Sosha told us tales of event planning that are only funny looking back and the pressure of working for Business Wire during earnings periods. She also told us to always follow your dream. She is well on the way to hers (publishing a book) by means of blogging and maintaining her own website and brand (itsnotsasha.com). Check out her blog and different social media sites!
 
At the end of her presentation, she left us with a few words of wisdom: “The best is yet to come, who knows where it will take you. Never give up and be persistent without going overboard or being cocky. There are a variety of jobs to do out there and just keep going.”
