AGENCY VISIT: McKinney on April 10th at 3:30 pm
Want to see a innovative local PR agency in action? Join PRSSA on our Agency Visit to McKinney in Durham. We will get a personal tour by Josh Janicek. This is a great way to network and ask questions from professionals. Email emoy@elon.edu to sign up! We will be leaving at 3:30 pm on Tuesday April 10 from the McMichael parking lot. Definitely take advantage of this!

Want to get involved PRSSA Members?
APO (service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega) has requested our help in promoting their dodgeball tournament! They would like us to come up with a new design for the digital boards in McEwen and Moseley. This is a great opportunity to add something to your portfolio. If you want to use pictures for the poster, they can be found on APO’s Facebook page. They would also like the APO logo, the Chick-Fil-A logo, and the Boy Scouts logo included in the poster design. All designs need to be submitted to APO by April 6th. Send the designs to Trey by email at gnewstedt@elon.edu and he’ll forward you details and give them along to APO.

February 2012 Chapter Update
PRSSA at Elon is starting up again for the spring! For all members who paid their dues this fall, you are covered for the spring semester as well.
Our first meeting of the semester will be Tuesday, February 28th at 4:15 pm in McEwen 011.
For new or interested potential members, please contact Kate Washuk (kwashuk@elon.edu), our treasurer, about joining this spring. You can turn in your $60 dues to CB: 5011. The meeting on the 28th does not require dues, so join us and see if PRSSA is right for you!
What to Expect This Spring
- Our normal monthly meeting with a professional speaker
- An agency visit at a local agency
- A student leader workshop in public relations

October Chapter Meeting
We were pleased to host Scott Palmer, Senior Account Executive with French/West/Vaughan for our October Chapter meeting. Scott shared some great information about social media marketing and some beautiful infographics about current trends in the field. Be sure to check out our blog to hear more about what Scott had to say.
A Thousand Thanks: We will be assisting the Office of University Advancement for their upcoming thank-you note writing campaign that will take place on Nov. 8-10. Please contact our Director of Chapter Development, Carolina O’Brien (cobrien13@elon.edu) for more information on how to get involved.
PRSSA Luncheon: Unfortunately the PRSA luncheon we planned to attend is taking place on Nov. 22, the first day of Thanksgiving break. If you would still like to go and will be in the area, please email Chapter President Liz Moy (emoy@elon.edu).
Dues are now overdue: If you have not turned in your dues, you cannot join PRSSA for the fall semester. Please keep checking our website and social media to stay up-to-date on the due date for the spring, which will be at the end of February.
Kindle Winner: Congratulations to Lauren Ludlow, winner of the Win a Kindle Facebook contest! “If I had a Kindle, I would download all the books on my wish list as well as my textbooks! I would LOVE not having to carry around my heavy books to class,” said Lauren.

First Chapter Meeting
Our first Chapter meeting included a mini-campaign competition with fictional client the Greensboro Grasshoppers where teams of Chapter members brainstormed and presented tactics to help increase the sales of season tickets to families. Tactics included:
- Special family days & meet and greets with team members
- Ticket giveaways
- Social media campaigns
- Kids run-the-bases competitions
- Fun and catchy themes to grab the attention of parents
Don’t forget our next Chapter meeting will be Tuesday Oct. 25 @ 7:30 in McEwen 108
There will be food, a speaker, networking opportunities and we will announce the winner of the Kindle!
